What is the reverse posting & versioning?
Reverse posting rolls a published floor plan back to any previous stable revision. When a construction draft turns out to be inaccurate after it has gone live, the facility manager restores the last known good drawing and its space records without waiting for a technician to redraft the file.
The problem it prevents
Once a drawing is posted it feeds occupant requests, printed reports and space reporting. If the posted version is a speculative construction draft, every downstream consumer is now working from geometry that does not exist yet, and pulling it back manually means re-importing the old file and repairing links by hand.
How it works
- Each posted revision retains its drawing, tiles and linked space records as a restorable set.
- A rollback republishes that set, so plan, area figures and links revert together.
- The rollback itself is recorded as a forward revision, so nothing is erased from the audit trail.
- Downstream CAFM consumers pick up the restored plan on the next sync automatically.
