Layer & Alignment

Layer Set Importer

Import standard layer structures and predefined layer sets from external facility systems.

What is the layer set importer?

The layer set importer pulls predefined layer standards straight out of an existing facility management system. Space, asset, occupancy and annotation layers arrive already named and mapped, so a migrating drawing set adopts a consistent structure without a technician recreating standards per file.

The problem it prevents

Migrating from a legacy FM tool usually means re-establishing layer conventions by hand, drawing by drawing. Every inconsistency introduced during that manual pass becomes a mapping failure later, and onboarding a portfolio stretches from minutes into weeks.

How it works

  • Layer standards are read from the source facility system's configuration rather than retyped.
  • Imported sets define which layers hold spaces, assets, occupancy and annotation.
  • Subsequent drawing imports are validated against the same layer set for consistency.
  • Deviating drawings are reported so they are corrected before linking.

What you get

Reduces drawing onboarding time from days to minutes when migrating from legacy FM tools.
